Volunteer Leadership Summit

                                 AUGUST 1-3, 2014

Dear Dickinsonians,

We once estimated that we would need to double the size of our alumni, advancement and admissions staff to replace the volunteer time given to the college each year. Can you imagine the costs associated with that? We are truly grateful for the time and talent provided to us by all of our alumni and parent volunteers.

In order for our volunteers to be successful, we need to provide you with training and resources. Sure, some of that can occur via e-mail or the telephone, but there’s nothing like being back on campus learning alongside other volunteers and face-to-face with the staff with whom you’ll be working. The Volunteer Leadership Summit provides that very opportunity.

The Summit will give you a chance to meet your staff liaisons and other volunteers, receive training and learn best practices, hear from our talented senior leadership on the inner workings of the college, provide your advice to us to make our volunteer programs better, celebrate our volunteer award winners, and strengthen your connection to Dickinson by experiencing life on today’s campus.

Whether you are new to volunteering or a seasoned veteran, whether you can offer a few hours a month or just a few hours a year, this weekend is for you.

I look forward to seeing many of you in August.

Sincerely,

Nancy A. Roseman
President & Professor of Biology
